You can probably repair your relationship if you fix your issues early enough. However, if it reaches a point where there is too much damage, it may be beyond repair.

Here are some signs that it is time for you to consider a divorce.

You never argue

Arguments are normal. Staying silent or avoiding confrontation is not healthy. If you just do not want to deal with arguments anymore, there is something wrong with your relationship. Although fights might not be productive, they are a sign that you care and healthy resolutions are necessary. You use them to fight for your relationship. When there is nothing left to fight for, you need to move on.

You only care about winning

On the other hand, the way you handle arguments is also a sign of the health of your marriage. You want to be able to resolve fights in a way that preserves your relationship. If you put too much emphasis on winning your fights, you are prioritizing power over your relationship. That is a sign it is time for a divorce.

You want to provoke your spouse

If you find that you are constantly trying to push your spouse to the breaking point, you should just consider a divorce. One example of provoking your spouse is to leave your computer unlocked with an inappropriate email on the screen so your spouse will see it and ask about it. This behavior is likely a sign that you want to end your marriage, but are afraid to take the first step.

When you have decided that a divorce is your next step, take the right precautions to prepare yourself for this journey. Make sure you protect your assets and get ready to live without your partner.
